Ken was born in Subiaco, Western Australia and lived in Bayswater until he was 4. He then moved with his family to a farm in Karridale Western Australia. This farm was next door to his Grandfather Charles' farm. When Ken was 13 the family moved to Mt Barker, Western Australia.
The family claim that Ken "found Elvis" while he was in Mt Barker.
At 15 Ken moved back to Perth and enlisted in the Australian Navy at Fremantle. His service number in Australian Forces is R105504. He was discharged from the the Navy on July 18 1978 after 10 years of service. During his time in the Navy he received 2 medals.
Ken started work at Alcoa on August 28th, 1978 and worked there til his passing in 2012. A total of 34 years.
Ken was a dedicated fan of the West Coast Eagles Australian Football team. It was very common to see the Eagles flag flying in the front of Ken's home during football season.
Ken was an accomplished sports person himself. He played cricket in Mt Barker where he was a fast bowler for the team, Australian Rules Football in Mt Barker and was a Navy boxing champion.
